It´s really easy to create a gallery of your fotos taken when you were at La Faula. But only if you follow these instructions to the letter!
PRINT NOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS
The photo files of all modern digital cameras are too large for the internet - lots of megapixels = too many megabytes. So you need to reduce them for the web (remember when you attach a photo to an e-mail, a little box pops-up that asks you if you want to reduce the file size?)
You reduce the file size using software on your computer. We suggest that you reduce them to 640 x 480 pixels. You can do this using photo editing software like Photoshop Elements. Normal Windows software like the photo loader doesn´t do this.
If you don´t have photo editing software on your computer you can safely download a photo resizer from www.download.com. From this site - cnet downloads - we suggest that you download the Faststone Photo Resizer. It is very easy to use and will resize all the photos in one batch.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USING THE FASTSTONE FOTO RESIZER
- click on the desktop icon to open the resizer
- in the left box browse until you find where the photo files you want to resize and load are stored
- highlight the files you want to resize and click on ´Add´ (you can add the files individually or in a block)
- once you have the list of photos you want to resize in the right box you need to specify the folder in which the resized photos will be stored on your computer.
- in the empty field beside ´Output Folder´ click on select and browse to find the right place to store the resized photo files. We suggest that you create a new folder called ´resized photos´ in your general photos folder.
- once you have the ´Output Folder´ specified in the field you need to tick/check ´Use Advanced Options (Resize...)´ and click on ´Advanced Options´.
- Click/check the ´Resize´ box and the resize options appear.
- The only thing that you have to do here is click on <Pick a Standard Size> and select 640 x 480 then click on ´OK´ in the bottom-right corner
- In the bottom-right next to the green arrow click on ´Convert´ and the photos will automatically be converted and saved in the re-sized photos file that you specified.

- It says ´Album created, click HERE to insert photos´-> click on ´HERE´
- Beside ´Add Photo´ is the field for the photos that you will add - you can only add one photo at a time to a maximum of 25 photos -> click on ´Browse´ to find the folder where you have saved your re-sized photos -> in the pop-up box, once you find the photo file of the photo you want to add, double click on it and it will enter into the field -> click on ´Add Photo´
- If all goes well you will see a page with the text ´Photo Inserted - click HERE´-> click on ´HERE´
- You will return to the page for inserting photos. You will see the photos that you have already loaded. If you decide you don´t like a photo and you want to remove it just click on it and it will disappear

- When you have finished click on ´Return to Albums List´ and you will get back to the page that lists all your albums.
TIPS: Do the following and you won´t have any problems:
- Don´t try to load photos that are individually more than 1 megabyte. Always re-size the photos - we suggest to 640 x 480 pixels
- You will need to check the orientation of portrait photos (photos where the camera is held vertically not horizontally) in Windows before loading them - otherwise you risk some-one´s head being sideways. By convention photo sizes are always stated width x height so vertically oriented (portrait) photos always have the smallest number first eg. 480 x 640 (landscape would be 640 x 480)
- Always follow the instructions on the page to the letter - if it says ´X inserted correctly, click HERE´ you must click on the word ´HERE´
- Don´t under any circumstances click on the backward and forward arrows <- -> on your browser (in Windows Internet Explorer those blue arrows on the top-left of the screen) - you navigate in the Faula website by using and following the instructions on the page
- Sometimes a photo won´t load properly or will stay there seeming to load forever. Simply click on the X next to the address line of your browser to stop the operation and re-click ´Add Photo´ to start the photo loading again.
- Please let us know if you have problems with the system, with using the system, with the instructions - anything in fact. We can modify and change things in a jiffy!
